BRITISH SCIENCE WEEK

Oakfield celebrated British Science Week with lots of different and exciting activities.

Professor Nitrate came into school for a science tour of discovery. Learners  got to see how the elements work, why molecules bond, understand the magic of lift and the power of pressure as well as experiencing explosions up close and personal!

The science behind all of the experiments he showed us were curricular based with the workshops focusing on the following:

  • Gravity
  • Thrust
  • Lift
  • Pressure
  • Chemical Reactions
  • Explosions
  • Fire

During science week learners made Aztec Poo, Great grasshoppers, seahorses and researched how much waste we produce as a nation. All of the learners really enjoyed the week, describing it as ‘Brilliant!’ and ‘Amazing!’.

What a fantastic workshop for National Science Week!
