College Enterprise

Enterprise at Oakfield encompasses a range of young person led learning. A key focus of Enterprise is giving students the autonomy and agency in their own learning.  As part of the Enterprise curriculum; students engage with an array of key skills and qualities which prepare our students to be young adults in the wider community; learning the skills they need for further learning and life.

Skills include;

  • Independence
  • Team work
  • Communication and interaction skills
  • Customer relations
  • Budgeting and money management
  • Time management including meeting deadlines
  • Following instructions and giving instructions

Students work with others in their Enterprise team to develop a business plan. Students develop the business from designing a product, identifying key roles and responsibilities, through to the production and selling of their chosen product. College students stated that;

‘Enterprise lets me see what it would be like to work in a creative industry’ Year 14 student.

‘The teachers let us make our own mistakes so we can learn from them’ Year 12 student.
