VOCATIONAL
Vocational Pathway
The Vocational Pathway is built around four complementary subjects: Health and Social Care, Horticulture, Business Studies, and Retail providing learners with practical, work‑related knowledge and essential employability skills. Through hands‑on learning and real‑world contexts, the pathway offers a coherent and progressive route into further education, training, and future employment. Learners work towards a range of meaningful accreditations, including AQA Unit Awards and Open Award qualifications, ensuring their achievements are recognised and aligned with industry expectations across vocational sectors.
Health and Social Care
Health and Social Care classes develop learners’ understanding of supportive practice through activities that explore leisure, wellbeing, and community engagement. Accredited by AQA Unit Awards in Leisure and Social Activities and Awareness of Adult Social Care, learners build empathy, communication skills, and practical knowledge to support future learning and vocational pathways.
Horticulture
Horticulture classes develop practical gardening skills through hands‑on activities in planting, maintaining, and caring for outdoor areas. Accredited by Open Award units in Caring for a Planted Area, Health and Safety Awareness, and Controlling Weeds, learners build confidence, responsibility, and essential employability skills for progression into land‑based or vocational pathways
Business and Admin
Business and Administration classes develop core workplace skills through practical tasks in handling queries, completing administrative duties, and maintaining organised filing systems. Accredited by Open Award for Further Learning and Employment, learners also strengthen interpersonal communication, building confidence and professionalism essential for progression into office, business, or vocational employment pathways.
Retail
Retail classes introduce learners to key workplace practices through units on handling stock, understanding how retail businesses operate, and maintaining a safe, organised retail environment. Accredited by Open Award for Retail Skills, learners develop confidence, customer‑focused behaviours, and practical employability skills relevant to progression into retail or wider vocational pathways
