Duke of Edinburgh – The Explorer
The Duke of Edinburgh Enrichment option encompasses the morals and ethos of the Duke of Edinburgh award. Learners work towards the goal of their bronze award by learning without limits communicating together, sharing skills and creating opportunities for learners to develop a range of skills and qualities. Learners take part in activities such as map reading, orienteering, using a Trangia, and keeping themselves safe when in nature. Learners focus on skills such as confidence, communication and working as a team.
Art Attack – The Creative
During Art Attack learners get the opportunity to experience Art through the years and from across the world. This includes a range of mediums, and techniques. Learners exhibit their work and learning, and share what they have created with the wider college community.
Gym and Swimming – The sporty
The gym and swimming options sees learners in college learning new life skills, and experiencing a range of new experiences. Learners develop their swimming ability during swimming lessons, working with swimming teachers, whilst supported by Oakfield staff. Learners who go to the gym develop their fitness and understanding of how to care for their body, and lead a healthy lifestyle.
News Team – The inquisitive
The News Team work effectively as a team to produced for the school and college, and shared with our wider community, including parents and visitors. The latest news and current events are illustrated with images taken by learners. Learners work on their communication and interaction skills engaging learners and staff in surveys and polls, and interviews.
