Expressive Arts Pathway

The Expressive Arts pathway is structured around four interconnected specialist areas: Core Art, Digital and Media Art, Performing Arts, and Textiles, which together nurture learners’ creativity, technical ability, and understanding of contemporary artistic practices. Designed as a coherent and progressive three‑year pathway, it enables learners to explore a wide range of expressive disciplines while developing confidence, personal expression, and transferable skills for further learning and employment. Throughout the programme, learners work towards a range of accredited qualifications delivered through AIM Awards and Open Awards, providing meaningful accreditation that recognises both practical achievement and creative development across the pathway.

Core Art

Core Art classes develop foundational creative skills through practical exploration of drawing, painting, mixed media, and design. Accredited by AIM Skills for Working in Creative Industries, learners build confidence, creativity, and employability, developing professional behaviours, artistic processes, and project-based skills relevant to further study and creative sector progression pathways outcomes.

 Digital and Media Art 

Digital and Media Art classes develop learners’ digital creativity through hands-on work in graphic design, digital illustration, photography, and media production. Accredited by AIM Skills for Working in Digital Technology, learners gain industry-relevant technical skills, creative problem‑solving abilities, and professional behaviours supporting progression into further learning or digital creative careers.

 Performing Arts

Performing Arts classes build confidence, communication, and teamwork through practical drama, movement, and performance activities. Accredited by Open Award for Further Learning and Employment, learners develop transferable skills, self-expression, and professional behaviours that support personal development, employability, and progression into further education, training, or creative performance-related pathways.

Textiles
