The NOCN Maths Skills qualifications at Aspire College provide a structured and supportive progression route from Entry Level 2 and Entry Level 3 through to Level 1 Mathematics Skills. These qualifications are designed to build learners’ confidence and competence in applying practical numeracy within everyday life, learning and future employment. Learners explore key mathematical concepts through real‑world tasks, developing the skills they need to become more independent, solve problems effectively, and prepare for future vocational pathways.

Across the programme, learners study a carefully sequenced set of units that develop fluency in number, shape, space, money management and mathematical reasoning. Units include Planning to Improve Performance in Mathematics, which supports learners in reflecting on their strengths and areas for development; Addition and Subtraction; Using Calculations; Calculating Using Percentages; Understanding 2D Shapes and Angles; and money‑related units such as Money: Adding and Subtracting. Learners at Entry Levels also work on foundational mathematical concepts including Number, Money, Understanding Shape and Space, and Applying Number Skills, ensuring they build strong underpinning skills. 

The curriculum blends accredited units with meaningful practical application, enabling learners to understand how maths supports everyday decision‑making — from budgeting and shopping to measuring, comparing, and interpreting information.
