Pupil Premium 

The purpose of pupil premium funding is to close the gap in attainment between those students eligible for funding and the non-disadvantaged.  

Schools are eligible for this funding for students who have been:  

  • Eligible for free school meals in the last 6 years  
  • In local authority care (CLA) 
  • Adopted from care  

The ranges of strategies employed are detailed on the pupil premium strategy document which is updated throughout the school year. 

CATCH UP PUPIL PREMIUM

The Government has made a commitment to provide additional funding to schools for each year 7 pupil who did not achieve at least level 4 in the Key Stage 2 national curriculum tests in reading and/or mathematics. The purpose of this funding is to enable schools to deliver additional support, such as individual tuition or intensive support in small groups, for those pupils that most need it. The allocation and impact of this funding is shown in the Year 7 Catch up strategy documents below.
