October was AAC Awareness month and the theme this year is “What did you say? Sharing your most memorable moments with AAC”. AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative communication; and is a term used to describe a range of tools and strategies to support people who struggle with ordinary speech – such as signing, communication books/ boards or AAC apps on mobile devices. AAC can also refer to vocalisations, gestures, facial expressions – all the ways we have to support expressive communication!
What better way to celebrate AAC Awareness month, than to share with you some photos of our learners using their different methods of communication.
