Welcome to the Alumni section of the website.

All past learners of Oakfield High School and College, including those who joined school to attend Oakfield College, are members of the Oakfield High School alumni.

The Oakfield Alumni has been set up to develop and foster lifelong relationships between school and past learners who have successfully transitioned from Oakfield.

NIAOMI COX

When transitioning from Oakfield College, Naomi chose to get a job. Naomi now has a full time position at B&M Bargains which commenced in March 2019. Naomi achieved ‘Employee of the Month’ at B&M Bargains in April and in May 2019.
Naomi also passed her driving test in November 2019 and now has her own lovely yellow mini cooper.

DAVID CLARKE

Whilst at Oakfield College, David studied English, Maths, Land-Based Studies and attended our off site provision Fir Tree Fisheries. Since leaving us David has transitioned to Fir Tree Fisheries to complete his studies. David continues to live in supported accommodation and received a local award for his volunteering at Wigan Youth Zone and Wheel for All programme.

CHARLOTTE BRASH

Whilst at Oakfield, Charlotte studied Maths, English, Occupational studies and Hospitality and Catering. Since leaving Oakfield, Charlotte has successfully transitioned to Foxes academy to pursue her hospitality and catering. Charlotte is working with the housekeeping/hotel services department and as part of this role, she is working front of house and in the kitchen. Charlotte is living independently with a number of other students at Foxes.

ADRIAN SPEAKMAN

Adrian studied English, Maths, ICT, Work skills and obtained a Level 3 in Floristry at Oakfield College. Adrian left Oakfield College and successfully transition to Wigan and Leigh College. Following his time at Wigan and Leigh Adrian was accepted onto a supported employment programme.
Adrian now has a full time job at Wigan council. He is currently studying a Mental Health Course as he would like to pursues a career in mental health the future

MICHAEL SMALLMAN

Michael studied English, Maths, Occupational studies and Employability skills. Michael left Oakfield College and transitioned to Myerscough College on a Horticulture apprenticeship which he passed.
Michael has had a number of successful employment opportunities such as kitchen assistant at Applewood farm and is currently working at The War House as a kitchen assistant. Michael is also resuming his driving lesson shortly.

CONNOR GREENHALGH

At Oakfield Connor studied English, Maths, Science, Art and D&T. Connor transitioned to Wigan and Leigh College to complete his foundation studies course. Conner then transitioned to Midstream College and completed a Travel and Tourism course. Connor has since left education and gained employment at McDonalds in Wigan.

SEAN PARKINSON

Sean left Oakfield in 2016 and has gone on to study a Music Level 2 and Performing Art Level 2 at Wigan and Leigh. Sean is currently accessing Supported Employment where he his employed as Travel Training support worker with Embrace. Alongside all of his studies Sean has joined an amateur dramatic society and is recording his own EP ‘The Travelling Song’ which is available on Amazon  and iTunes.
