NUMERACY
At Oakfield, our Maths Interventions are delivered with a targeted approach to Mathematics. Initial assessment enables teachers to identify gaps in a student’s knowledge and understanding of Number and Mathematical concepts within the Maths curriculum. This approach allows staff to support learners through focused learning activities at regular intervals each week, enabling individual targets to be set and resources produced which allows learners to think about their own mathematical needs and progress with trained Staff, in an environment where they feel safe to try out new approaches and ideas.
Maths Interventions at Oakfield:
- Shows that learners have a more positive attitude towards Numeracy
- Provide learners with an increase in self-confidence and motivation in class
- Increases student confidence, allowing them to work more independently
Each individualised program is designed to enable all learners to enhance their own learning and progress.
