NUMERACY
Numeracy across the Curriculum
Numeracy across the Curriculum is a research project that is being run under the umbrella of Whole Education at Oakfield and is introduced across the whole school.
The aims of the project are to develop the knowledge and understanding of problem solving in numeracy across the school.
We plan to develop strategies and activities to develop problem solving in all curriculum areas.
What is Numeracy?
Numeracy – often called ‘mathematical literacy’ is a life skill.
It means having the confidence and competence to use numbers and other mathematical skills in areas of life. It is the ability to reason with numbers and other mathematical concepts and to use and apply these to solve a variety of problems.
