LITERACY
Literacy Learning Support
Literacy support is structured 1:1 to enable both pupil and facilitator the opportunity to identify the student’s preferred learning style. The specific need is then identified, followed by regular Literacy sessions within these areas. These take place with a member of staff skilled in spelling programmes and reading comprehension approaches. This enables the learner to develop and improve their core skills. All aspects of Literacy can be worked on at any one time. Oakfield provides this support to improve pupils’ Literacy and ensure that learners develop the skills to ensure that they meet their full potential.
The learning environment promotes reading for pleasure, with an excellent variety of resources.
The aim is to develop the learner’s confidence and literacy skills, and empower them with the independence to utilise these skills across the curriculum.
