Learners will learn a wide range of skills, from word processing, spreadsheet and presentation skills to how to effectively use digital equipment such as the digital video cameras. Over the course of the first three years, they will build on basic skills in various applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Moviemaker, Audacity and Dreamweaver) to become proficient in ICT, able to evaluate and assess their work, identify areas of improvement and start on the road to becoming effective independent learners. All programmes of study are based around a business and include functional skills and personal learning and thinking skills.

Courses are run based on learner ability the department sets challenging and aspirational targets for all learners, which they strive to achieve.

At all key stages the department is committed to ensuring learners have a growing awareness of E-Safety and Health and Safety when using ICT.
