This year the Low Bank Ground trip took place from 20th – 24th November and saw the Year 8’s battling the wind and rain to complete their activities and work towards their John Muir Awards.
The group worked in three different teams with instructors Chris, Charlie, Liam, Jack, apprentice instructor Katie and volunteer instructor Jo. The learners challenged themselves climbing up water falls (ghyll scrambling) and orienteering. They battled hailstones whilst canoeing on Coniston itself and had a more gentle experience kayaking on the pond.
Everyone gave it there all and had a fantastic time and are on there way to completing their John Muir award. Watch this space for the date for the Low Bank Presentation Evening when the award will be completed. A huge thank you to all of the staff involved in the residential and plans are already underway for next year.
