Work Experience 2018
Year 10 learners completed their work experience around the borough. Placements included, being a teaching assistant, PE assistant, ICT technician, Laboratory technician in a High school, junior office staff, volunteers at local charity shops, soft play centre support and a builder’s merchants. Learners also worked at My Life in Standish looking after animals and gardening.
One replacement has resulted in one of our leaners being offered a position as a volunteer at the charity shop.
Learners who went out as a group experienced being a Baker serving up their lovely cakes they made to staff. They also visited Liverpool engaging in role play in a variety of jobs. Excel of Leigh came in to Oakfield so learners could experience beauty and hairdressing. Learners also went to Landgate School for Sensory gym and met the Paramedics there.
Every placement has provided positive reports all stating that the learners have been a credit to Oakfield. Employers are more than happy to take future leaners for further work experience because of the high standard of student interaction.
Mrs Gough would like to say how fantastic everyone did and how very proud Oakfield is of them. Well done. ... See more
